sigh...

got into a car accident. got rear-ended by a 77 year old man. messed up the right rear corner or my bumber. not really that bad, fortunately and the card is drivable. No frame damage but about $1700.00 in damage. takin the jet into the bodyshop on Monday. get a rental and all that and the guy says it will take him a week. Thank goodness it was the old mans fault, and his insurance is forkin tha bill... should be good as new..well...good as a five year old car soon...

still wonderin how police keep shootin and killin black people and seemingly nothing happens to them.... how can these guys justify shooting those guys in New York 50 times? how many shots does it take to kill somebody? i mean, one officer completely unloaded his pistol into the guys, and... RELOADED and started shooting again. and people wonder why i have such a low opinion of the police. and dont give me that "they rammed the police van" crap...New York police policy is to only shot at moving vehicles if they are being shot at themselves. And there were no guns on the guys, and they werent shootin. New York police are trained to aquire, identify and fire twice, then evaluate. what?!?!...i guess after the second shot, the guys weren't down on the ground enough? had to put bullets in the bottom of their feet? (holes were found there)... and people wonder why i have such a low opinion of the police. Most of the people reading this, if they get pulled over by the police, they are thinkin, "frak, gotta pay a ticket for speeding". If i was to get pulled over, i would be thinking "is this just a traffic deal, or are they going to pull me out of the car, beat me down, search my car, beat me some more" and i have to hope somebody captures in on tape. Think about this. how many tapes have we seen of police putting a beat down on people.? you would think the police would know they might be filmed. Ever wonder how many times this actually happens and we dont see it on Foxnews? and people wonder why i have such a low opinion of the police... oh, the cops in new York will probably get off, as well as the police in Atlanta that killed the 92 year old black woman in her own home after busting through her door. . Oh and those guards in florida too.... and in a year, we'll see it happen again... and nothing will be done about it.... and people wonder why i have such a low opinion of the police.

Somethings fishy about this, look at all the facts.
As slim shady would say, you better think of the consequences...

- it was a bachlor party event at a strip club- not just any strip club, but a known seedy establishment, that police had been watching for awhile because of drug activity and who knows what else. where was this kid's judgment?
- wad two kids already, out of wedlock. where was this kid's judgment?
-wne of this guy's "friends" apparently bolted and left the scene. wglad to see you stepping up on your blog to look out for this dude, even when someone who knew him would not.
-one of the party apparently threaten to go get a gun to "resolve a dispute with another man." they were leaving to do this when they hit the cop car
-now the fiance' is changing her last name to his, now. no need to even get married, any more! what's next, social security or death benefits? watch for it

Yeah maybe he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. But he sure wasn't smart to be there.

Ah yes...the anonymous poster...tsk, tsk... but you are right about consequences, etc. But too often now, it isnt those types of situations. I could get in my car and run up the street for Mcdonalds for my kids, and I could be pulled over for whatever reason, and I can assure you that I would be worried that a simple traffic stop it might not be, whereas my neighbor next door hasnt that same worry. And since when does do the facts you expounded upon regarding the dudes past warrant getting shot at 50 times?

Yeah, I don't like it when people post anonymously.

If they needed to shoot the guy because they thought he was a threat, why not just shoot him in the leg or shoulder or something to put him on the ground? Although, I do not think it was necessary to do even that in this situation, there is absolutely NO excuse for gunning an unarmed man down and shooting him that many times. Someone needs to be made an example of.

I have always thought that your opinion of the police was a bit bizzare, but here lately, I am starting to think there is something to it...

I can imagine after watching all these things on YouTube and the news that it would be easy to get paranoid against the police.

I don't trust cops myself, so much... Had enough "interesting" run-ins with them while in high school and at Clemson. I guess they serve the greater good in some way. But they rarely seem to be on my side.

Case in point. Got pulled over on the I440 beltline last year on the way to work. Wasn't speeding, or anything. The cop sat behind me for about 30 minutes with the lights flashing, etc, right there in the emergency lane. He never got out of the car or anything... I contemplated getting out and approaching his car and thought better of it. Then he turned his lights off and just sped away. What did I do? Probably in the wrong place at the wrong time. Didn't get shot, though.

Another funny thing... This year during election season, all the humans running for judicial seats would say things like "endorsed by law enforcement." Now, when would you ever been in front of a judge, and think to yourself, Boy, I'm sure glad His Honor is all buddy-buddy with Blue!

On the anonymous thing: It's a pretty interesting psychological phenomanon. Does it necessarily undermine the human's position, though? The guy (girl?) had one or two interesting points. Still doesn't change the fact that the Police had really, REALLY bad judgment.

Happy Holidays to you and your family, Jerome.
