Santa forgot something

This morning, Santa dropped off 2 things for Rylee and Ian that he couldnt get in his sleigh the other day. They found 2 battery power cars ( the type that they sit is and drive like little cars) outside this morning. And wow, Grandma just happened to be here this morning too. Rylee has a Princess (go figure) 2 seat convertible, complete with an actual working radio. Ian has a Jeep, with a radio too. Of course, they have to get the actual driving part down.... they werent doing that too well this morning

Rylee is a little annoyed
Ian is a little annoyed

Christmas 2005

Santa gave Rylee a vanity thingy and Ian got a hand-made train.

Christmas is past...

Another Christmas and all is good. The twins seemed to enjoy themselves quite well. Rylee got just about everything possible that has any connect with princess, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty...whatever. Ian has every Power Ranger SPD or Mystic Ranger thingy possible. They also were fortunate to receive some things from all their various Aunts and Uncles. They got their bedrooms done by Nanna and Papa and they got powered mini cars to ride in from Grandma.

I got a toolbox, a power screwdriver, a power drill, underwear, socks, a cap thingy, Battlestar Galactica DVD, Star Wars DVD, Marshall mathers LP, Batman Book, cool tshirt, Polo shirts, pajamas, a Color printer/Scanner/copier/paper, a pedometer, a radar hatand tickets to the Busch and Nextel race at Darlington in May.

I hope everyone had a great time with family and friends, and i hope to see some of of you this week, perhaps... I will post some pictures in a little while.

Let there be peace on earth
and let it begin with me
Let There Be Peace on Earth
The peace that was meant to be

With God as our Father
Brothers all are we
Let me walk with my brother
In perfect harmony.

Let peace begin with me
Let this be the moment now.

With ev'ry step I take
Let this be my solemn vow;
To take each moment and live
Each moment in peace eternally
Let there be peace on earth
and let it begin with me

another year

Today is our anniversary for Jessica and I. I still kinda smirk when I think about people like Dr. Goodstein tryin to tell Jessica not to go out with me, or Jessica's Aunt sending back our wedding invitation ripped into little pieces, or NONE of Jessica's family attending the wedding (except for Ellen and Wes, who had the stones to do what was right and made common sense) or people tryin to tell us (what about the children?, blah, blah, blah...) that it would all end up in ruin. It still sorta sucks because I think Jessica feels somewhat slighted about her wedding day and the fact that people... grown up people, mind you...couldnt stand up to their own parents.

But...we are still here. chuggin along...the ship that set sail with all the people who had a clue. Oh, we've had a couple of people catch a plane and hop on board, but for all those who doubted us, I say they can kiss my ass. And for all of those who went with us...Thank you!

Jessica is in New York with her sister, so I will miss celebrating today, but its all good. I listened to a song today and I thought the lyrics kinda cool, so I printed them out in salute to Jessica, my wife.

Happy Anniversary!!

Forever and Ever, Amen - Randy Travis

You may think that I'm talking foolish
You've heard that I'm wild and I'm free
You may wonder how I can promise you now
This love that I feel for you
Always will be

You're not just time that I'm killing
I'm no longer one of those guys
As sure as live
This love that I give
Is gonna be yours until the day that I die

Oh baby
CHORUS:I'm gonna love you forever

Forever and ever, amen
As long as old men sit and talk about the weather
As long as old women sit and talk about old men
If you wonder how long I'll be faithful(I'll be hapy to tell you again/Just listen to how this song ends)
I'm gonna love you
Forever and ever
Forever and ever amen

They say time takes its toll on a body

Makes a young girl's brown hair turn gray
Well, honey, I don't care
I ain't in love with your hair
And if it all fell outI'd love you anyway

Well, they say time can play tricks on a memory

Make people forget things they knew
Well, it's easy to see
It's happening to me
I've already forgotten every women but you
Oh baby

wow...

2:15pm on Monday. Still no power...still no-one willing to tell me when it will be repaired. I am probably now officially angry.

this must be what hell is like

OK...power went out at my house on Thursday morning. I havent seen any Power trucks or anybody come down my street. No power since Thursday morning. All food in fridge and freezer ruined. House in somewhat of a disarray. My frustration level is probably about as high as it has been in years. I have called and called and everytime, i get a run around. Everyplace around my house has had power since Saturday night morning. My street doesnt. And I am pretty much fed up. I have spent the past 3 days bumming showers and warms meals off of people and I just gave up and stayed at home last night. And I went by the office today and asked them , and all they could do was shrug and say"we're working as hard as we can". But I see NO trucks anywhere. There are some who seem to think I am living some sort of vacation. I am fortunate that Jessica's parents are off for Christmas now, or I would have had the twins in the dark. I dont know what i will do if i get home this evening and there is no power. I am tired of it.

oh boy..it was pandelierium

ok...trees down everywhere, all the bushes are snapped in two. kinda weird. Ice storm is bigger than we thought it would be. It is like a obstacle course driving around withthe trees and power lines down. Of course, cable is down 2. And the power went out a little while ago, so i am considering perhaps headin to a hotel for the night. I dont think anyone has room for us anymore near here. It was weird during the night hearing the constant booms from the transformers blowing up....

i am giving in

Ok, after perusing the radar online and then going out to take the 48 bags of trash to the street, i think I am going to have to move the Jetta to the street in case the driveway ices over and I need to get out. I am normally skeptical about these types of weather events, but the radar shows a significant precipitation event, and the bitter cold outside just now has me convinced. and as a side not, the 1990's era ken hatfield Starter jacket is still the warmest jacket of all time, as far as i am concerned. Walked outside with just pajamas and t shirt, with that bright orange jacket, and i did even remotely feel cold, except for my legs and face. I love that jacket...too bad they didnt make it in another color back then. At least now, Nike seems to make a grey shade of everything.

oh cool

I have met the enemy and it is ...google earth.

silly pic

Thought this was kinda typical

The rooms are done

...the past weekend saw Ian and Rylee go to separate bedrooms. As a part of Xmas, they received bedding, got their rooms painted, carpets put down, twin size beds, curtains, lamps, alarm clock/radios, etc. Nanna and Papa (Jessica's parents) and Aunt Ellen came up and helped with doing all the work, while the twins spent the night with Grandma (my mother). Rylee remained in their old room while Ian went to the 3rd bedroom. I thought their might be a little fuss, but they seem to take to it pretty good.

Jessica and Ellen go to NYC this coming weekend. I think they will have a great time, as Brown seems to be planning things for them to do that will give them a unique New York experience outside the usual "Empire State Building...Times Square stuff).

Xmas is getting closer and I think the shopping is complete. Still have a couple of things coming in the mail that seem to be taking far longer than they should be to get here, but it is xmas season so i guess i shouldnt be surprised.

Sometime this week, we gotta take our yearly family picture and put it on cards and send them out...

Pathers go down in flames, while the Falcons win. I hope the Pathers pull this out. sigh....

xmas parades

Rylee was in her first Christmas parade on Saturday. it was the Central parade...she does the Clemson parade tomorrow night. Hope fully the weather will be good.

Clemson to the Champs bowl in Orlando...too bad. I'd go if they were playin in Charlotte.

We are starting the prep for Ian and Rylee to go to separate rooms on their birthday. Jessica is painting their rooms and we have secured the furniture, lamps, alarm clocks, I-Dogs, bedding, etc... that is supposed to be the birthday for them this year. It should be interesting to see how they react to this when it happens.

why is it?

Why is it it feels so much better when you lay down on your bed to grab a z or 2 in the morning, than when you go to sleep at night? Just wonderin…. I mean, I go to sleep just fine at night. Usually im asleep within a couple of minutes once I decide its time to go to sleep.

And why is my car suddenly acting loopy? Like, my key doesn’t want to unlock my car. And my car only has one door that has a keyhole. And when I place my key in, it unlocks the car, but doesn’t signal the car that it is unlocked, and I put the key in the ignition and the alarm goes off…. Sigh…I really wanted to avoid this way back when I bought the  Jetta, by not getting anything POWER, but that is the only thing that is, and it is acting flacky now. Perhaps I need batteries in my remote. Somehow, I got the car to recognize the key, so I can drive it right now…but I am not locking my car for the moment.
