one for the bull

...I saw where a bull from a bull fight ran and jumped into the stands and started running over the fans. I say..."You Go, Bull!!!!!" as a Taurus, i hate seeing the bulls get screwed over in the bull fight thingy. I say, time for a little revenge. You know that bull was thinkin..."ya know, I' ve been watchin, and I think they think i dont think I can jump over that there low lying fence and make havoc for 5 or so minutes...I'm going to get killed anyway. Migh as well make them think a little bit about this one sided ""BULLFIGHT" as they call it" I saw that this morning, and thought, bout damn time a bull decided to turn the tables. bout damn time.

been downloading and listening to so some old Michael Jackson. There is a song called "leave me alone" that he did many years ago, that flat out rocks. Also kinda weird listening to the lyrics, given his present day shenanigans....

...then theres The Jackson 5, and "Can You Feel it?" pretty rockin tune, too.

Wonder if Erik Brown's President is going to mention anything about why Exxon gets to have billions in profits from high gas prices.

anyway...GO BULL!!!..... bout damn time!!!!!

wow

Coretta Scott King passed away today. Perhaps that era is finally drifting away, which makes me a tad sad. especially because there seems to be no strong leaders in the black community. Oh, we got P.Diddy and Jesse and well, you see what i mean. tsk, tsk... shaking head...

seems like we can just take our cable box back to the store and get another one.

Harwood seems to think he can fix our furnace problem. I need to call him because I am getting a little tired of the house being a tad chilly in the morning.

random musings

For ELB: According to reports from January 2006, New York City's bed bug population is reaching epidemic proportions.

And what the Frack has gotten into Kobe? Good grief...and yes, Erik..I know he did. But I'm still with the Diesel.

Sooo...Hamas is now in charge in Palestine. What next? pita bread will be elected president?

Seems like i fried our cable box today by plugging in a space heater to it. i forgot the extension cable I had running in the den was actually plugged into the outlet on the cable box. plug in a laptop? works...plug in a small space heater..uh...no. Well, at least we can finally get a better cable box.

By the way, for some odd reason, the furnace just up and stopped working. Not sure whatthe problem is. Neither Hot or cold comes on. The wall thingy acts like its on. but... it not kicking on. So thats why i have broke out the small ceramic space heaters for the moment. they actually are getting the job done. Oh, and we also fired up the gas fireplace.

You da man, Tiger!!!! Funny how i will not even give a golf tournament the time of day...unless Tiger is in the hunt. And then i'll watch. I will check to see if he is near the top or at the top of the leaderboard. If so, golf is good. If not, golf sucks.

baseball seas0n is looming.....and Nascar is too. Starting to get back into my daily reading cycle for baseball and Nascar. And listening to MLB and Nascar channels in the morning on XM

new season

Football season...over. Now it is officially Nascar and baseball season. Notice i didnt mention basketball...well, I dont really follow basketball until March, and that is college then. I only follow the NBA aroeund May till the end of the NBA finals, which seems to be about November or so... Also on deck in March is the World Baseball classic. Sorta like the World Cup (soccer) for basebal. Oh, and dont forget the actual World Cup this summer. I sense the USA might be looking to get to the semifinals this time. I have always thought that it would be all over if the USA can get consistently good in soccer. the World would pitch a fit.

that thud

..that you heard was the Panthers crash and burn earlier. sigh....oh well...

Jessica is going to try to sign up Rylee and Ian for 4K programs tomorrow. I was all excited until she mentioned that it would be difficult for us since we have a stable home, 2 incomes of note, blah, blah, blah...basically...you gotta not be doing good to get into 4k, unless there is extra space. maybe we will get lucky and be able to slip them into 4K. A $1000.00 a month not going to daycare would be nice. We went around today and looked at the schools we are looking at.

The Frat was going to have its formal on April 22nd, until I was told that the Symphonic band is having a dress rehearsal on that Saturday from 5 to 7. ??????????????? but they dd tell me that a guest artist is flying in, so I can understand...i think. Although I would be one pissed dude if I was in Symphonic Band now.

Rylee's new phrase..."What the heck is going on?" serious...she says this about every other sentence now. gotta figure out a way to squash that real soon before the grandparents hear it.

random stuff

When I got home from the Frat rit the other night, Ian was still awake, so I decided to peek in his room. I asked him how his day was and he started by saying, "Well...actually...." and then proceed to use the word "actually" about seven times in the space of a minute. I sat there amused thinking that ..obviously..someone had learned a new word today.

The Panthers are one game away from the Super Bowl. I am thinking I may just go ahead and make my permanent allegiance with the Panthers, instead of the Falcons. I cast my lot with the Panthers this year and for the first time, picked right.

I have a been nagging like sick all week. Stuffy nose, congested in the morning...that crappy type of cough.....

Saturday (today) I must get the kids bedrooms cleaned and the piano room (hallway) cleaned up too

Tomorrow, i hope to get my electronics working correctly with the stereo downstairs. For some reason, the subwoofer doesnt want to kick in at times. I think I just need to re-wire. the entire ball of wax

Excerpt From MLK's Speech "I Have a Dream"

I saw a article where they talked about how most people have never even heard the entire speech that you will snippets of today over and over. Well, I am not going to print the entire speech, but I will recommend to everyone that they take the time to read it. The actual speech is far longer than the most qoted parts. I have copied the final part as a reminder that my generation has made it to a point, and I feel my children are already way ahead of where i was. lets hope it continues, step by step.

I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal."

I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.

I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

I have a dream today.

I have a dream that one day, down in Alabama, with its vicious racists, with its governor having his lips dripping with the words of interposition and nullification; one day right there in Alabama, little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers.

I have a dream today.

I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight, and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together.

This is our hope. This is the faith that I go back to the South with. With this faith we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope. With this faith we will be able to transform the jangling discords of our nation into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood. With this faith we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to go to jail together, to stand up for freedom together, knowing that we will be free one day.

This will be the day when all of God’s children will be able to sing with a new meaning, "My country, ’tis of thee, sweet land of liberty, of thee I sing. Land where my fathers died, land of the pilgrims’ pride, from every mountainside, let freedom ring."

And if America is to be a great nation, this must become true. So let freedom ring from the prodigious hilltops of New Hampshire. Let freedom ring from the mighty mountains of New York. Let freedom ring from the heightening Alleghenies of Pennsylvania!

Let freedom ring from the snowcapped Rockies of Colorado!

Let freedom ring from the curvaceous slopes of California!

But not only that; let freedom ring from Stone Mountain of Georgia!

Let freedom ring from Lookout Mountain of Tennessee!

Let freedom ring from every hill and molehill of Mississippi. From every mountainside, let freedom ring.

And when this happens, When we allow freedom to ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God’s children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual, "Free at last! free at last! thank God Almighty, we are free at last!"

FINALLY!!!

...finally the Patriots are gone. Thank God!!!...i was so tired of seeing those guys. And the Panthers are to the NFC finals. I went with the right team this year!!!

I am just about over my sickness. Stuffy nose is starting to get on my nerves.

uhhh

uhh, ok...who in the world is Mary Duff?

Daytona trip shapin up...Leave Saturday, go 5 1/2 hours to Jekyll Island to a house, get up early on Sunday, get to track by 9ish, see race, come back to house at Jekyll after race and return to Easley mid-afternoon Monday. Still have a couple of tickets...think I might ask Lynn if she wants to go. Else, i think we will absorb the 2 tickets so there is more room at the track.

Everyone is sick at the house. Stuffy noses and coughs.

Daytona will be checked off the list of tracks I want to see a race at. So far, Charlotte (check), Atlanta (check), Darlington (check), Daytona (not yet), Talledega (not yet) Bristol(not yet), Martinsville (not yet)....

New year off to a draggin start

Its been kinda a halting start to the New Year. Finally got my new color printer up and runnin with my computer. Its really cool..I can print directly from my camera, or even insert the memory cards and print from there.

Starting to new the schedule for the first part of the year solidified. Daytona in February, then Darlington and the Nextel All Star race in May. A bunch of KKPsi stuff sprinkled in there too.

Post O the day!

Fact of the Day

A cat was found alive and well on the underbelly of an SUV after the vehicle had traveled over 70 miles along the New Jersey Turnpike.

just surfin

…read an email from an ole friend today…got memories from High school band floating through my head… I can still remember the marching band show from my freshman year in high school…I keep visualizing parts of “Hello Again” and “She Believes in Me”. Right now I am listening to Ray Charles singing Eleanor Rigby. I encourage everyone to listen to this version, then listen to the original. Pretty slick on his part. Kinda sounds like how I would do a song if I was to cover a song that was so ingrained in peoples minds.

Now listening to Warren G and Nate Dogg….
(Nate Dogg)
Sixteen in the clip and one in the hole
Nate Dogg is about to make some bodies turn cold
Now they droppin' and yellin'
It's a tad bit late
Nate Dogg and Warren G had to regulate

Oh…have moved to Kenny Rogers…
And she believes in me, I'll never know just what she sees in meI told her someday if she was my girl, I could change the worldWith my little songs, I was wrongBut she has faith in me, and so I go on trying faithfullyAnd who knows maybe on some special night, if my song is rightI will find a way, find a way...

Funny how something like band, and a show from the Fall of 1981 could have such a burned in memory. 1981!!!

Now..Billy Joel…
Brenda and Eddie were the popular steadies
And the king and the queen of the prom
Riding around with the car top down and the radio on
Nobody looked any finer
Or was more of a hit at the Parkway Diner
We never knew we could want more than that out of life
Surely Brenda and Eddie would always know how to survive
Oh, oh, oh, oh... (2x)

Oh, and now, after days of cuddlin with the Idawg and sleeping with it, Rylee now deems the Idawg evil and that it is “scaring her”. Had to move the Idawg away. Too bad for Idawg.

you could see it coming...

poor USC...they built them up and built them up. And I have seen this way too many times, especially on the college level. "The Best Team of All Time" ...blah, blah, blah... and that always seems to be a ticket for your team to lose when the media starts doing that. Then of course, that same media blasts you when you lose. When you are dealing whith 18-22 year old BOYS, you just cant get a consistent performance under high pressure situations.

Any resolutions?

Ok, here's my resolutions for 2006

1) Take time once a month to phone a friend who I dont get to talk to normally. Hmm...wait thats pretty much all my friends, but still, I will carve out a hour somewhere every month to call someone. I have all these minutes on my cell plan that I use virtually none of. Amazing how I can be so easy to get in touch with, yet i never talk to anyone. I can communicate online at home or , frack, I have 24 hour AIM/Email/Internet on my phone. I even have Bluetooth now on my phone.

2) I must get organized at home. Period. End of story. If it means i have to clean up the house everyday, i will do it.

3) I will get my photography gig going full tilt.
Wishin ya a Happy New Year!
