Jerome, might need to get that t-shirt quickly as I believe the Obama luster is starting to dull a bit from avoidable, if not completely self inflicted, damage.

Ok, so the Kenyan garb thing is put out there by the Billary team... but, HELLO, where the heck are political advisors when politicians put themselves in positions for these crazy photos? And so no one thinks I'm taking a racist spin, I'm including Kerry and the NASA space bunny suit, Dukakis in the Abrams tank, etc... isn't any staffer brave enough to say, "er, excuse me Sir, I believe that any pictures taken of you at this time may be used against you in the future". Hell, I would give such a staffer an instant promotion, and possibly even a future cabinet position for pulling me away from the fire. But this said, COME ON, Obama... the photo is taken in the last half of 2006 and you enter the race in Jan. 2007? Pre 9-11 I could understand such a misjudgment, but post 9-11 and a few months before you openly declare you are running???

And as for the preacher thing, don't know about anyone else out there, but seeing a Preacher doing porn moves while talking about Bill Clinton riding anything really freaks me out. Kind of the same reaction I get from evil clowns in horror movies... something just inherently wrong about it. Now, this is coming from someone that voted for Bill the first time but was so frustrated by sex scandal after reported sex scandal that it turned me to the right for the past twelve years, so it sure isn't that I can't understand the preacher's sentiment... just could do without the moves, Preacher... And I'm not even going to go down the path of the God Damn America sermons, other than to say that Obama should have been WAY out in front of this story doing damage control, as now his delayed timing is putting him in a horrible position.

Really frustrated. Just as I'm starting to see Obama as a bright and charasmatic individual, even if lacking detailed plans (ditto your published thoughts on this one Rome...), all of sudden I can't help but question his judgment and lack of experience for walking his way down these trap doors.

So, here I sit, ashamed at the Clintons for being willing to fight for the votes of the ignorant and to use race for fear purposes (thought you were the first black president, Bill???), have a charismatic democrat candidate I'm willing to consider for the first time in 12 years and he's sticking ammo in his enemy's guns, and so I'm left with McCain all of a sudden seeming wiser for his age and experience, and smelling like a rose for staying above the fray that Billary has had to enter in order to fight for survival.

And for the record, the Billary team would have regained a tiny bit of lost respect from me if they would have thrown in the towel for the good of the party when they saw that to win they would have to lower themselves to fight for the uneducated and non-black vote, as well as to use every trick in the book to go to the convention with split delegate/super-delegate results. All the data showing that Obama is winning amongst the young, the educated, and black vote, the very voters that Hillary would take pride in winning but instead of saying I won't stoop to win via shmoozing with those I don't respect, she pinches her nose and starts playing dirty. Leaves the guys on the right looking like choir boys for all falling in line with McCain in order to maintain party unity.

Respectfully,
A Florida Voter

ah..a Florida voter who might just not get to have his vote count in regards to the choice of candidate on the Democratic party side of things... look...I dont think Obama believes that crap that "minister" spews. But I do believe he better have a real good speech tomorrow. I think that someone who runs on the platform of uniting people cant be associated with that type of hatespeak

In the first reply was just sharing my own $.02, but some further blog reading appears to give some statistical weight to the damage...
