Uhmmmm... looks to me like Florida has 6 beaches on the list and SC has only 1... just saying. ;)
Anyway, this list is based on popularity amongst the masses based on places they can afford to visit. Sure drunk teens and bad golfers love Myrtle Beach but the beauty of the area doesn't touch 1,000 other beaches and that's coming from a native South Carolinian who has visited Myrtle Beach and most of the other beaches on the list multiple times.
Gray sand and less-than-spectacular ocean water when compared to crystal white sand and stunning emerald blue waters off Hawaii and deep-water Florida bays leaves no real comparison. Again, this list is just a popularity contest amongst the masses based on where they've visited. Otherwise Destin would be on the list and Redneck Riviera Panama City wouldn't be. Not to mention Maui and countless other Hawaiian beaches.
For those seeking true beauty and real r&r, this list is a MUCH better tool...
