tsk, tsk...
Lots to say about the Tigers, but since I am guessing that there will be a gut check internally on the team, I'll wait and pass judgement after their next game. I think it isnt the coaches. I think its the players. You KNOW the coaches had a sense of urgency against Maryland. You could see it. The players didnt. And dealing with that same age bracket in another venue, i can tell you from experience that they dont EVER get it until its too late. They never learn until they experience the exact thing you talk about over and over and over trying to prevent it from happening. Bowden jumped up and down and yelled at his team to not let up and close the deal during halftime. But it was obvious the team kinda started out going thru the motions in the second half, and I have seen it happen time after time with these college kids... they think that the other team is simply going to give up and they let them hang around and Suddenly...you are in a dogfight and 1 or 2 plays go against you and you are sacked with a loss... Happened with Southern Cal, happened with Florida.... At any rate, the season is far from over and the Conference championship is still attainable.

i respectfully disagree on your statement about the tigers. i actually think it has a lot to do with coaching. i think that bowden didn't scream or jump up & down at halftime. i personally don't think he has that in him plus i've always questioned his motivational skills. the team played great in the first half but then maryland made adjustments at halftime and clemson didn't. i've seen that to often with this staff. i do agree that when you are dealing with the age group in question the things you talk about are valid but in my opinion it is the coaches responsibilty to not let than happen in the first place and they haven't done that. i think we can still be good but i have a feeling we are on our way to a very very mediocre season and with the skill players we have, and the expactations that were laid out for us, the blame for nothing less than an acc championship can be laid on everyone coaches and players included
