In the Stone

Is there a better opening 16 measures of a song than the opening 16 bars of In The Stone, by Earth Wind and Fire? There might be some that equal it, but not many. Im talking about the first 16 measures... just kicks all types of ass. For those of you unfamiliar with the actual song, it is pretty close to the arrangement that Tiger Band played back a few years ago. And the lyrics to that song are pretty profound too...

Speaking of Marching Band, I had a 20 minute converstion with Jay Bocook this morning...if you dont know who Jay Bocook is, and you are/where in band, well... its too late now to save you. We were discussing my students filming the Furman Band this fall at pregame and halftime, etc. To actually talk to someone who arranged so much AWESOME marching band literature is way cool.
